The Hungarian Association for Ethnochoreology (HAE) was founded in June 2011 to create a forum for Hungarian dance folklorists, teachers and practitioners of traditional dance to promote cooperation and change of information. In the spirit of outstanding researchers in the past, HAE aims at supporting Hungarian dance research, spreading its results in wide circles, acting on behalf of traditional dance culture, and acknowledging this culture in wide circles of society.
For the above goals HAE maintains active connections with the Institute for
Musicology (Research Centre for the Humanities, Hungarian Academy of Sciences), the Hungarian Heritage House, the Hungarian Dance Academy, and with teachers specialized in dance folklore and dance anthropology at the Department of Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology of the Szeged University.
HAE organizes conferences, symposiums and joint researches just as well as further vocational trainings for dance teachers, choreographers, and for all interested.
